Alpine Public Education Fund

Alpine ISD is honored to partner with the Permian Basin Area Foundation to provide the Alpine Public Education Fund.

This Foundation supports critical projects across Alpine ISD, helping us provide our children with learning experiences to be responsible, productive, and successful citizens of an ever-changing world.

Alpine Elementary Library Renovation

This project funds a much-needed renovation of the Alpine Elementary Library. This renovation will bring the library up-to-date, including new collections/books, new interactive learning stations, reading nooks, and kid-friendly furniture to make the Library the center of AES. Starting in Fall 2023, AES students will be in the library throughout the day for reading time, book check-out, STEM activities, and more!

Funding generously provided by: Dollar General Literacy Foundation, Permian Basin Area Foundation, and Alpine ISD.

Angel Meals Account

The Angel Meals Account pays off overdue meal balances for students and families who have accrued meal charges in our cafeterias (for breakfasts and lunches) and are unable to pay them. 57% of our students are on Free or Reduced Price Lunch (FRPL). Many of our families who do not qualify for FRPL also struggle to afford lunch charges over time. This money helps clear out all overdue accounts for the 2022-23 school year. This account serves approximately 80 students.

Alpine ISD Staff Appreciation

This project funds staff appreciation activities for all Alpine ISD staff members. Funds will be used for door prizes, staff gifts, Buck gear, and refreshments for beginning-of-year and end-of-year celebrations. This project will serve 185 Alpine ISD staff members, thanking them for their service to the children of Alpine!

2023-24 School Supplies

This project purchases school supplies for all Alpine Elementary Students and Alpine Middle School students so that parents do not have to purchase school supplies for the 2023-24 school year. (Parents will provide backpacks; the district will purchase all other supplies.) School supply lists can cost families up to $100/child. This will be a huge blessing to our community. This project serves 650 students.

Student Summer Camps

This project funds summer programming in June 2023 and June 2024 for elementary students. Alpine ISD currently offer 2 weeks of half-day summer school. This project funds children's camps (athletic, STEM, arts, etc.) in the afternoons of those two weeks. With funding, we may also pilot two more weeks of camps in collaboration with community partners. This project will serve 100 students.

Weight Room Renovation

Our weight room equipment is worn out, haphazard, and bordering on unsafe. We are fundraising for a weight room renovation, including an overhaul of the equipment and mats throughout the facility. This facility serves all AHS students in their physical education classes, as well as all Fightin’ Buck and Lady Buck athletic teams. This project will serve 180 students.

Volleyball Net System at AHS

This project funds a replacement of our volleyball net system at AHS. The volleyball net system includes the posts that secure into the court, the net, the winding hardware, etc. The system has a lifetime warranty. This project will serve 60 Alpine Lady Bucks.

Read Alpine

The Read Alpine program will coordinate local volunteers to read to classes at Alpine Elementary School (and at our new Child Care Center) on a monthly basis. Funds will be used to coordinate volunteers, purchase books for the events, and purchase take-home books for the students at AES and children at the Child Care Center. This project will serve 420 students.
