Veterans Day Program
We are happy to announce that Alpine ISD will be hosting the annual Veterans Day Ceremony honoring all veterans. We’ll have the annual community program to honor our Veterans and their service on November 11th, at 11 am at Buck Stadium. Staff Sgt. Taylor Moore, U.S. Army, will be the guest speaker.
Homecoming 2021
We’re excited for Homecoming! Our Alpine Bucks will be competing against Odessa Compass on Friday, October 29th. The parade will be Wednesday, October 27th at 6 PM with lineup beginning at 4:45 PM at the AISD Administration building.
Flu Shots and Vaccination Clinic
Alpine ISD will be hosting a flu shot clinic on October 18th and a COVID vaccination clinic on October 20th. If you have any questions, please call Gayla Owen, District Nurse at 432-837-7710, extension 409 or email at gowen@alpineisd.net.
Vitalant Blood Drive
AHS Student Council is excited to partner with Vitalant for a community blood drive on the below dates. The Midland-Odessa region has reached a critical need for blood donations and need our help.
Second-Dose Vaccination Event (Pfizer)
Alpine ISD will host a Pfizer vaccine clinic on Thursday, September 9th at 4:00 p.m. The clinic will be held at the Alpine Elementary School Cafeteria. This is for the second dose for individuals who received their first dose on August 12th. Anyone wanting a first dose is welcome, but will have to make arrangements with DSHS for their second dose.
P-EBT Application is Open
Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) provides food benefits to families with enrolled students (up to 21 years of age) who temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals for the 2020–2021 school year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Second-Dose Vaccination Event (Pfizer)
Alpine ISD will be hosting a vaccination event on June 7, 2021 for students 12 years and older. DSHS staff will provide the second dose of the Pfizer vaccination for up to 150 people. This is not required by students but available for those that would like to be vaccinated.

Community Feedback for ARP Funding
Alpine ISD is applying to receive an allocation of the $11.2 billion appropriated to the State of Texas for public education under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act. We are looking for community feedback to help align these funds to where parents and stakeholders think they would be of most use.

TEA Special Education Stakeholder Survey
The Division of Review and Support at the Texas Education Agency (TEA) strives to improve special education services for Texas local education agencies (LEAs). The monitoring process is intended to help school districts continuously improve services and facilitate positive student outcomes. As a stakeholder involved in special education, your feedback is important to inform our process development.
Adobe Certification Successes
It’s Adobe Certification season in Mr. Grisham’s Photography and Graphic Design classes. Passing the Adobe Certified Associate exam is the only way to obtain this highly sought after adult, professional certification.
Update Pursuant to Executive Order GA-34
The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has issued updated public health guidance in response to Executive Order GA-34. The TEA updated guidance, dated March 4, 2021, can be accessed via the TEA website at https://tea.texas.gov/sites/default/files/covid/SY-20-21-Public-Health-Guidance.pdf. Public school districts are required to adhere to this guidance.
Dr. Seuss Week at Alpine Elementary
March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’s birthday. Students from Alpine Elementary are celebrating this week by dressing up all week long. Schools, libraries, and community centers nationwide use this day to celebrate the joy of reading.
Soil and Water Conservation Poster Winners
Elementary students in 2nd through 4th grade had the opportunity to participate in a Big Bend Soil and Water Conservation Poster Contest. The theme to incorporate this year was ‘Healthy Forests = Healthy Communities’.
100 Days of School
This week marked the 100th day of school for students this year. Elementary teachers had all kinds of activities revolving around the 100 days theme for students to stay busy with. Students in Mrs. Luevano’s kindergarten class made 100 day cereal necklaces - and then ate them. In Ms. Garcia’s kindergarten class students designed and wore shirts celebrating their 100th day of school.
Portraits are Done!
The Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior portraits are done. We will be finishing the Senior portraits this coming week. All portraits can be purchased from www.elocotillo.com/portraits.
National #SchoolLunch Week
This week is National School Lunch Week. We are extremely thankful for all of our custodial staff. We’ve got pictures of our elementary, middle school, and high school staff at work this week. We’re also sharing a few helpful tips on how to add funds through Lunch Money Now.
Scholastic Book Fair
The middle school Scholastic Book Fair is arriving! The entire event will be virtual this year. Come join us and purchase a book between October 19th through November 1st. A portion of all proceeds will go to the middle school staff.
